ROM Hack compression type? (header: 3ds-lz..)

according to this bms script, the compression type is lz77wii.
I want to write a script for unpack/repack, but I can't find any documentation about this compression type...

lz77 would be one of the most common (and oldest) compression technologies. It's likely either lzma our a derivative of that.
