So I got component cables for my consoles and I want to hook them up to my monitor.

I got an Dell S2409W. It has an HDMI, VGA and DVI-D connection.
The monitor can handle 1080p (1920 x 1080) so it would be nice to be able to make use of that.

I already bought one of those convertor boxes, but mine can only handle 480p at 60Hz. (So no luck for gamecube and most VC games or even hooking up my xbox 360)
I've been looking for a solution to this for a very long time and wanted to see if anyone knows about one.

No, my neighbour got 1080i on his monitor with an convertor box that is now sold out...
But it is possible for the xbox 360 to put out 1080p over component.

then you should use 720p then since is progressive scan
while 1080i is interlaced

progressive scan will yield a sharper picture quality

alot (I think all) of the 360 games are just upscalled to 1080p from 720p anyway if its hooked up to a full HD source

or just get a HDMI cables if your xbox is one of the newer ones (I dont think it is though), or get the 360 VGA cables
