Really now? Have you tried to officially update via Nintendo then simply reinstall your cIOSes? It doesn't work like that.....there is much more involved there. And, if you are one of the unfortunate ones to either not have bootmii in boot2 or not be able to use cboot2 through bootmii IOS (that wouldn't work on my system), well, you'll be stuck with a console that can play homebrew yes....but NO custom IOSes/backup loading! If you do not understand what I am saying, read a little more in regards to the official update, what it does, and what YOU need to try to do to get it backup loading capability back in.
And, if you consider this guide "playing with your IOSes", you haven't grasped at all what is going on here/what we are doing....and in that case I would suggest not to update at all
Finally, you have MORE of a chance to brick using the official update than anything else due to Nintendo's poor boot2 upgrade code.
