Sorry if been asked before im good with ds and wii hacking just new to psp.
Just recently bought a 2nd hand psp phat with 1gb memory card.
Have been looking through the ways you can do things to it and thought about doing the firmware to play films etc…
Just confused so hoping someone can help read a few guides but something aren’t too clear.
From what I can tell I need 2 things a Pandora battery and a magic stick.
Now I understand I can use my memory card to do the magic stick thing just the Pandora battery this is confusing me.
I have taken out the battery, which came with it as I understand you can change this to the Pandora box by opening it up and cutting off a leg.
The problem I have with this is the battery once opened looks very different to the ones in guides it has the chip on top and I don’t know what to do next?
Is this one not able to do? If I buy a special Pandora battery do I only use it to install cfw and then use the normal one?
I do have some soldering experience so I don’t mind if I have to do this for any reason.
Once I sort that the magic stick seems quite easily I just wonder if I would come into any problems with the firmware on psp being 3.90 at this point as I remember reading ages ago that at one point if you were past a certain firmware you couldn’t install firmware or downgrade etc…

Can anyone help or point me to guides for that type of battery and what to do next?

just buy a pandora battery from dealextreme

    9 bucks

and yes, you only ever use it to do the CFW upgrade, regular battery the rest of the time
