Homebrew Complete noob to 3DShacking.

Howdy!

I am an absolute noob when it comes to hacking the 3DS and i have a bunch of questions. The thing i really care about getting is the freeShop.

version: 11.4.0-37U

1. Where do i start? do i need to homebrew my console? can i just get a CFW?
2. is there anyway to downgrade? from my research it appears that there aren't methods to get all of these things on my current version.
3. could this compromise my console?

2. no way unless you hardmod
3. yes if you do it wrong.

1. 3ds.guide if you were below 11.3, but you're on 11.4, so there's not really a way to get CFW or even just Homebrew on 11.4 yet.

2. Not on 11.4 without A9LH, at least that we know of.

3. It's highly unlikely to, but there might be a risk. I wouldn't know of any specifically though.

You will have to wait for a 11.4 exploit, so be patient and don't update your console.
