Hello everybody, I am very new to all of this stuff, and I would like to request your help. I apologize in advance if this post ends up being long.

So here is my situation. I would like to be able to play competitive Pokemon via wifi. I have been doing some Pokemon Online simulator battling, and I think I am ready to step it up to the next level.

Anyways, here is what I have:
-A Nintendo DSi (baby blue because I am manly)
-A legit copy of Pokemon white (english)
-A laptop PC (running windows 7)

Now, this is what I would like to be able to do:
-Create a team of pokemon on my PC using software like PokeGen
-Transfer that team to my Pokemon White cartridge
-Battle with those pokemon via Wifi
-Copy the save file BACK onto my PC, in order to record saved battles using an emulator, or create a new team of pokemon.

Alright, so I think this is all possible. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have been watching a lot of Wifi battles on youtube and this is what most people seem to do.

However, I have close to no idea of how to go about doing it.

What I think I need is some sort of save dongle, or flash cartridge, or other piece of hardware in order to do this.

I've been doing some research and this seems like a good option (though I would have no idea how to use it) http://www.r4igold.net/r4i-gold-plus-introduction.html

This also seems like a viable option (again, I do not understand how it works) http://www.tigergame.us/products/R4i-SDHC-DSi-V1.4.3-Card-With-Kingston-4GB-MicroSDHC-Card.html

Another question (sorry): Once I have selected the right hardware, where should I buy it (I'm assuming I can only buy this sort of stuff online)? I seem to only find shady looking retailers, nothing official, like amazon (p.s. I'm in the US).

Anyways, I hope some of you can point me in the right direction and give a newcomer some advice on what to do.

Thank you all in advance,

Sam.

I don't think either will help you. Those are flashcarts, used for playing DS backup games, and what you're looking for is a save dongle. Here's the link to the manufacturer's page of one: http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/SaveDongle.asp.

From what I gather, I assume you're trying to dump save files from your Pokemon White cartridge to and from your computer with a flashcart.

I have done so many times, and it is indeed possible (with the right hardware)

What I used is a Slot 2 flashcard (A Supercard Mini SD) and a homebrew called Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool. I dumped the save file from my legit game cards to my slot 2 Supercard Mini SD via NDS Backup Tool.

Problem is, you either need a passme device or a flashed DS. Considering that you own a DSi, I don't know if a passme would work since I don't have a DSi.

Failing all this, just buy this thing
