Thanks everyone!

It really means a lot, that lots of folks appreciate this guide.

As thanks for showing your appreciation (OK, not really... but you could view it like that

), I've improved greenpois0n's section a bit more, with the mention of Loader and more (Mac) screenshots.

Loader's icon appears after a respring. It's like a green icon with a white circle and a swirling arrow inside.

I see... The guide is now updated to reflect the green icon.

Thanks!
hmm... Might have been easier to post a screenshot instead of describing it, but at least you put it

can you also unlock the iphone 4 4.1 using greenpoison?
greenpois0n is a jailbreaking tool, not an unlocking tool. If your iPhone 4 has the "1.59.00" baseband, you can unlock with ultrasn0w after jailbreaking.

12:40 AM GUIDE UPDATE: I've begun merging some images together, resulting in slightly less bandwidth usage.

Maybe it's the guides fault I keep going over my bandwidth limit

But I am glad

Well, PwnageTool doesn't use Spotlight for Expert Mode. Simple Mode still utilizes Spotlight, but the guide does not (and will not) cover Simple Mode.

Anywho... PwnageTool 4.1 support is complete!

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

(By the way... for those wondering what "20102010 NEEDS MOAR N72" means, "20102010" refers to the iPhone Dev Team's blog post of PwnageTool 4.1, and "N72" refers to the iPod touch 2G.)

I recently tried to jailbreak a 2g iPod touch mb model, and I wanted to use a custom boot logo, but without erasing data. So I tried jailbreaking with greenpois0n, and then restoring a nor-only ispw in iTunes. I got an error and had to completely restore the iPod. Can anyone explain if this is even possible/where I went wrong?

Yes unlucky
Although
You should have used redsn0w

2nd gen mb models are untethered at
0 cost and can use custom boot logos also it requires about
0 effort to do and near enough
0
Time
However if you unplug your iPod during the process the you have to restore

Pity you have to restore if
Only you had used redsn0w in the first place you would have
Saved yourself a restore you should have looked through
The whole guide first

Wait, redsn0w doesn't restore? And I used sn0wbreeze since it accepts larger boot logos, and I assumed that redsn0w would make me restore too.
