Hmm, maybe there is a way, but I need more info...what's your flashcart? If it's R4 Original or DSTT, I may be able to help.

@Keeley
It's good that it works and that you've confirmed it to do so, but without the auto-boot it kinda removes the point of it being a replacement firmware ^^; But it's a guide that works, and so I linked to your guide post like how I linked to CannonFoddr's AK2i guide. Thank you for contributing! *adds to contributer list*

How to do this using an original R4 with DSTT firmware & YSMenu? Help would be greatly appreciated.

ThanX!

I couldn't figure out wth I wsa doing so decided to just use the R4 1.23 firmware from r4li.com.

I have games loading from Moonshell 2.03 but now my question is, after reading page after page & still not making sense to me, is it possible to reset back to Moonshell while in-game? If so, please explain. I've gotten it to reset from Moonshells "exit to firmware" option, but I can't get in-game soft reset working... if that's even possible.

ThanX again!

On another note - I accidentally deleted my games folder in the process of everything, lol.

Hello, if you are still updating this post about loading commercial roms with Moonshell2 on the R4. If I may say that it is working with Moonshell2 Beta 10 with Alternate loader using the latest Ysmenu. Took me a few tries to load it up without have the errors when loading it. I also have tried with the Newest Moonshell2 2.03 stable. It is working with Beta 10 and above. If I was better with posting things I would post a tutorial on how to use Moonshell2 and Firmware and commercial loader using the latest things.
Hope your still updating this, hope this helps people too.

P.S. Using the Alternate loader removes errors when loading certain roms.

This seems a pointless to me. It does not have cheats and it's hard to soft reset within Acekard. The last prgram feature is annoying. Im going back to AKAIO. Nice to see this guide working and I hope people will do this properly.

Does anyone know how to change the loading bar color of YSMenu? It used to be blue in the older versions, but now it's gunmetal, which doesn't really suit my white DS. A small thing, I know but I'm quite particular to colors.

I think it's hard-coded into YSMenu - there's no option in the YSMenu.ini file for it. I have notice though that sometimes the bar DOES show up Blue - but I think that happens if you run Homebrew stuff, perhaps Yasu did this for debug purposes

That's sad, as I would have preferred it in the blue color as it complements the default MS2 skin. Homebrew loads with a blue color bar though.

@ Blackiris: Can you change the link on first post to my new guide for Moonshell 2.03 & YSMenu on Acekard 2i with SDHC support'

I've updated the guide for the new version of Moonshell 2.03 and thanks to "codingtom" - it also includes a 'fix' to allow v4.15 to work with SDHC cards (apparently 4.15 doesn't work on some SDHC cards)

Proof that it works

Many thanks

p.s. I can also confirm that you can do a soft-reset within a game on a DSTTi BUT you'll need to make sure that 'softreset' option is enabled from within YSMenu (either from YSMenu own file selector or via YSMenu.ini function "DEFAULT_RESET=true").

Button combination is Left paddle + Right paddle + A + B + X + Y

Ermm... it does have cheats - press [ B ] when YSMenu take over, & if you happen to have a DSi - why do you need soft reset ??. True if you have a DSLite/Phat than you may need a soft reset - but i was happy just to power off/on on my old DSLite

& what do you mean by 'hope people will do this properly' ?? - You're lucky people take the time to actually do guides for newbies

Guide updated.

@helpme
Did you use Keeley's guide? Because if would really help if you post step-by-step instructions here. o_o

@Chris_Skylock & D34DL1N3R
That's what people are trying to find out...It works with some and yet to be tested with others. Also D34DL1N3R, good luck getting your games folder back...

@Keeley
I think you & helpme need to discuss things since both of you are handling the SuperCard DSOnei guide.

@helpwithr4
From how I read it, you confirmed the R4 Original method to work MoonShell 2 versions, and then you said that you would've posted a tutorial on how...to make it work? Isn't that what the guide is for, or do you mean you want to post a tutorial of the R4 method working without autoboot, since you did mention firmware?

Anyhow, thanks for the alternate loader advice; I've added it to the guide!

@CannonFoddr
Thanks for the information on DSTTi. I've updated your link along with it.

I'm not sure if this'll work on an R4 since I don't have one, but I tried this with DSTTi and AK2i [on DSi] & just the Ak2i on a DSlite - and it worked all times, so it may work for you - NOTE: Always back up all your 'flashcard' files 'just-in-case'

> Firstly when you try to 'reset to firmware' in Moonshell make a note of the file it cannot find (on DSTT it's called 'TTIO.nds', on AK2i - 'RPGS.nds' - however on an R4 ?? don't know)
> Copy a DLDI-patched version of 'Moonshell_directboot.nds' into the '/moonshel2/resetmse/' folder & rename it to the 'missing' filename

That should fix the Moonshell 'reset to firmware' problem

> Open 'YSMenu.ini' file & change 'DEFAULT_RESET= false' to 'DEFAULT_RESET=true' - save it

This will make MOST games have 'softreset' enabled in YSMenu by default. Note that some games don't get 'enabled'
- I don't know why but Animal Crossing, Millionheir, Nanostray, Professor Layton, Super Collapse & a few Homebrew on my system don't get enabled

> When playing games (& after you've saved your position naturally) press: Left paddle + Right Paddle + [ A ] + [ B ] + [ X ] + [ Y ] TOGETHER
> Card will reset back to Moonshell

@Blackiris
As mentioned above - this works with AK2i with Moonshell 2.03 (using my setup guide) - only tried on a 2Gb standard MicroSD though as my 8gb SDHC card is currently being used elsewhere
