Well, there is one icon that does make the menu buttons dissappear (usually looks like a pin/thumbtack). when in doubt though, you should just use the "Save Pages" from the start menu (I think its easier pressing the start button at least, but meh).

There isn't really a solution for the twitching apart from just not holding the stylus to the page while reading, or to use the D-Pad.

I found that it's a lot easier to hold the DS regularly instead of like a book. It feels awkward to use this application in book form. XD

And I probably would fuck up making .cbds files. I completely fucked up installing Coverflow DS, and that had an installation instruction file.

In the settings... What's Right to Left / Left to Right and No Page Room or whatever it is? I didn't see any change when I changed them.

Right to left and Left to right is just how the cursor jumps when using the D pad (I think, I haven't used CBDS in a while). So when you press left on the D pad when set to Right to left, when the cursor reaches the left edge of the image, it will jump to a lower position on the right side and you can continue reading (and vice versa for the Left to right).

I'm drawing a blank on what No Page Room was, I think it was the option for accounting for the space inbetween the DS's top and bottom screen (like moonshell2's option when setting a wallpaper). If I am remembering this correctly, its only noticeable if you are viewing the image where both screens show the image as opposed to the bottom screen being a thumbnail and the top screen being the viewer.

Converting to .cbds is very easy to do, if you don't care too much about understanding anything about pictods (though it is pretty self explanatory itself), the most you need to worry about is that the images are actually in the topmost folder and not a subfolder (ie. "/Bleach Ch01.zip/Bleach Ch01-pg001.jpg" as opposed to"/Bleach Ch01.zip/Bleach Ch01/Bleach Ch01-pg001.jpg"). Apart from that, its like Choconado says.

@choconado

ehh 300 pages before slowdown? thats unusual .. lol

anyway.. i use the highest quality that pictods can covert too. So maybe that causes ComicBookDS to slow down around 150pages for me.

(btw 300 pages? thats too much.. mostly, the manga that i read in volumes usually reach aorund 240pages below including the covers and credits)

@Inunah

convertion is not really complicated, even a noob can do those. Only thing you do is open a rar or zip file or even add batch it via selecting the folder were the manga you want to convert is placed too (pack with image files.. well yes image file in zip and rar archives.. the usual archive that uses to on the manga scene releases anyway) .. then it will add to list.. after that the configuration is already set to optimal (though if you want some greater quality then adjust it), so after you list it. Click the proceed button. and it will begin. (usually takes 2minutes for me to convert 99 chapters of Mx0 manga) then after that.. copy the converted files inside cbds folder ...

well, to be honest, the stuff I get that's over 300 pages usually is NOT an actual comic/manga. (and are often pdf files to begin with) :::whistles innocently:::

Regardless, I don't see why holding the DS book-style is so awkward. I tend to just use my right thumb to control the D-pad.

Fun Fact I've learned about these comic formats: They are all just zips and rars. If you change the extensions to thus, your standard zipping utility will in fact be able to work with them. But be aware that CBDS files use a different number standard than cbz and cbr. That is to say that the latter choices organize the page numbers from left to right, so that if you don't want the book to read "page 1, page 10, page 100, page 101....page 109, page 11, page 110...page 19, page 2, page 20" you're going to have to make sure that there's zeros in the columns that exist later in the numbering, i.e. "001, 002...010, 011" etc. As far as I can tell, what pictods does is format the images to fit into cbds without being ginormous, and attempts to retain all image quality.

Anyone know of a place that distributes .zip or .rar manga chapters? I found that one of the chapters that were converted for me forgot to fill in a speech bubble. XD

And holding it book style is awkward for me because even though it fits in my hand better.. It bugs me how the long sides of the manga pages are right up against the long sides of the DS. I don't know why, maybe I'm OCD about it.

One more question I forgot to ask. What's the thumbtack icon for? :\ Is it just for making the menu options go away?

And I'll try PictoDS...... I don't know if it'll go though. If it's anything like LIPS, it'll freeze for ten minutes and then have to be force quit at least once because of accidental overload or wrong thing chosen.....
I need new manga anyway... I've read most of what I've got on there now. All that's left is one or two chapters of one of them and then the 3 chapters of another.

Will I have to rezip everything if I have a .zip folder of Yotsubato! / Yotsuba&! with like 30 chapters in it? XD I had that on my comp a long time ago, but if I don't have it anymore i'll be sad. Cause that manga's adorable. So I want it on CBDS if I still have it.

try mangashare.com
They don't have Excel Saga. :\ That's where the missing speech bubble text is in.

And woah.... I did it on the second try. the first try I fucked up and when I tried to name two separate manga I gave them the same name............ But it turns out that it's easier and quicker than I expected.... Since all programs like it (for different things, mind you) that I've tried have either not worked or froze so much it was sad.
......This is good......?

.........Hmmm...Now I can go about making my more naughty mangas into cbds format, probably... XD

mangafox then?
It doesn't have .zip downloads.

It's like... None of them have it. XD

Maybe Stoptazmo? Although the last time I remember going there, it needed a registration (no fees though xD) and I think there was something I didn't like about it...but I can't remember what it is.

Eh, i'll just forget about it.

On the flip side though... I converted a few manga chapters I found someplace on my computer (It took me this long. WTF).... And when I set it manga before I converted it... it starts each page up at the top right and I have to press left to go to the next page....

Since the ones converted for me didn't do that I wtf'd......
It's not unpleasant, it's actually kind of handy....... But still.. I didn't know you could do that! XD
