hi everyone,

I was playing ZA earlier & got tired of running around doing wild zone 20 encounters, so I started looking around the cheat engine stuff. I don't normally use them, and it's been a while since I did much with my switch in general. I opened breeze, ran the game with the 60fps & 5x game speed cheats for a bit, then closed the game without thinking about it. Now, when I try to open the game, I get the black "The software was closed because an error occurred" screen. I've already tried editing the config file, uninstalling & reinstalling the game, and removing all of the breeze files on the switch sd, but I'm still getting the same message. can anyone point me in the right direction here?

thanks!

Probably running low on memory, you on firmware 20.x.x?
I don't think so, there's ~30gb free on the SD card. I'm on 20.5 right now.

after going through some of the troubleshooting steps in the cheats database thread, I can boot it while holding L & the game comes up as normal, but when I try to boot it regularly now, I get a 0xFFE 010000000000000D error code. from some googling it looks like that's related to the cheat engine, but I'm not sure what I should be doing with that info

I'm not referring to the space on your sd card firmware 20.x.x has 14Mb for sys-modules, if too much memory is in use , pokemon games won't run.

understood. I disabled the cheat engine running & removed breeze entirely from the SD card, but still get the same 0xFFE error when booting without holding the L to override. I can't imagine breeze still running after being removed from the sd card. any suggestions?

You can try to install homebrew menu nsp you got to look for it if you can't get into full ram mode via title override.

got it figured out, thanks for the help

in case anyone runs into this in the future - all I had to do was reinstall breeze, boot the game up holding L to override the cheats, then once in the game go into albums > breeze, update/download all the latest cheats for breeze, and disable all the cheats. it still had the master code, 5x speed and 60fps enabled after reinstalling despite deleting breeze, redownloading and installing fresh

hopefully this saves someone from spending a couple hours trying to figure out why cheats broke your game lolol

This is so random cause I did the same exact thing, closed it while breeze was running and I’m having the same issue. I tried deleting breeze then reinstalling and updating cheats like you, but still having the same “this software has closed because an error occurred”

edit: it was actually a corrupted save. This is the second time I’ve had a corrupted save with this game :/ very sensitive. Just deleted the save and it opens fine now.

I am having a similar issue. I just updated my game to 1.0.2 and updated the cheats to be sure they worked for the update and decided to use the moon jump cheat and the item doesn't decrease cheat (wasn't on an older cheat file) to go back and get Froakie from Side Quest 9 and it worked perfectly. I kept the cheats active and went to the building to exchange mega shards for megastones and the trade wouldn't work, so I went back to breeze and turned off the cheat and used the restore code cheat so I could exchange the mega shards for megastones and it worked fine. I then decided to moon jump up to the roof of the closest building to farm mega shards (I had 100% catch rate still active) and encountered the Riolu and tried to catch it and the code wasn't working, so I went back to Breeze and unselected everything and used the restore code, then went back to the game and the screen had a black haze around the edges so I decided to shut down the switch and reboot it, the switch was responding slow. I rebooted and now get the software was closed because an error occurred message. I checked the data on the switch and it says it is ok. I removed the cheat file from Atmosphere hoping that was somehow affecting the console, but still an issue. Is it a corrupted save caused by one of the cheat codes?

Since then I have tried opening the same game with a different profile and it works ok, so I decided to see if updating the HATS package I use and deleting the cheats would help, but still an issue under the profile I always use. I guess I will have to see if I can delete the save and keep fingers crossed.
