Did you ever downgrade a SysNand with GW Software?

No, I haven't. I entered the scene rather late (Feburary of this year), so after GW's tools were used frequently.

Ah yes, forgot to mention that. The community version of a9lh is far superior (such as giving FIRM protection).

I think I won't clean the CTRNAND, considering 2.1.0 transfer overwrite everything. I also saw that someone did it without cleaning his CTRNAND before

Just try it. After you install A9LH, you really have nothing to lose. Just be sure to select the Keep A9LH option when using Decrypt9.
