Hello!
I was live there when Sighax was released, and since I own an O3DS with stock 11.4 without homebrew (shame on me for thinking the 3DS would be hacked entirely after being 3 years afk in the scene), I got super excited!
I'm not an expert-level solderer, just done some arduinos in the past, so hardmodding makes me way too scared, got my 3DS since launch.

So, without CFW or a hardmod getting Sighax to run (or boot9strap as implementation) is impossible for a sad user like me?

I heard about DSiWarehax returning, but I need another person to system-transfer me the CFW, right? Must be locally as well if I'm not mistaking, right?

Last question, I also read about ntrCardhax returning (or how you wanna call it), are there already some information and would it give me the possibility to ditch a hardmod? Getting a system transfer is not an option, since I don't know anyone here who has a modded 3DS; just one person who is as desperate as me because he updated as well :p

Thank you very much!

Well, it looks like your best option is to find someone in your region who has one of the DSi games. alternatively, you will need a hard mod. I've never tried hardmodding, but i do know that hardmodding an o3ds is more dangerous/harder than a n3ds.

I already had my 3DS opened, but then I saw how small these contacts are. I have an very old soldering iron back in the days when the wall in germany was still a thing xD It's as precise as *insert not precise thing here*

Thanks for the reply! It sucks so much being left aboard :D

there do exists tutorials on how to hardmod an o3ds. if you're up for the challenge, maybe you should try it. or maybe there is someone else in Germany (with the DSi games) near you who would be happy to help. I know i would if i was close.

Why not just sell your 3DS and buy one with an older firmware?

New ones in Mediamarkt usually have 11.2 or something, atleast mine did or try your luck on ebay.
I was gonna suggest that but i saw he has had this 3ds since day one. It might just be me, but i would grow attached to it. :P

Yes, I will NEVER be able to give my beloved childhood away! ^^ Still own my precious GBA SP, DS Lite, DSi Pokemon B/W Edition.... Ohh these times.. It would be the smart thing to get a new one, but my heart says no :x

Then you might want to buy a cheapo 3ds on ebay. That is where i buy all of my 3ds. Ive gotten some REALLY good deals too! I got a o3ds for 40 bucks (USD) and it has NO issues. I would highly consider getting another 3ds and using that. I have 3 right now. :P

Wow, that's actually not bad at all. Wow! I was first thinking about sending my 3DS to a company doing the hardmod for me and creating a new socket for the connector to the PC, but just getting a new console might be the smart thing to do. Even if I bought a, let's say, new N3DS XL, they shouldn't be on 11.4 right?

There is a chance that they are, ask the seller before buying :P

It depends. 11.4 has been out for a while now so some people might have updated it already. HOWEVER! All of the 3ds i have bought have not been on any newer firmware because typically the people who sell them, don't touch them for a long time.

I was referring to a new N3DS XL, you probably missed me edit, those shouldn't be updated until 11.3 right ?

Thank you guys for your assistance by the way!

Like @nitroBW said, there is allways a change someone might update it, and then sell it. Just ask the seller. :)
God speed my dude.

N3DS have a working homebrew payload, but that doesn't mean you can actually hack it, because you need arm9 access, which you only have with dsiwarehax or a hardmod, as Stephano said.

and you can always use the 11.2 payload on 11.4 firmware for o3ds systems.
