Homebrew Clarification Thread - What is going on?

I was referring to the usage of CIA's. And copying games back and forth can be.... Tedious and annoying that way. I can swap SDs in my gateway faster then the one in the N3DS or transfer files over WiFi.

this is why I removed the screws from my New 3DS's cover plate, so I can easily access the microSD card. but to each their own. I'm still going to keep my coming Sky3DS+ even with the 10.3 kexploit.

I feel like there's a place for Sky3DS, Gateway, and every other CFW.

Sky3DS is nice for those on non exploitable firmwares, and for those who aren't tech savvy enough to go through setup and just want something simple and works.

Gateway is nice in the fact that you can use the cartrage as a way of playing game. Kinda a mix of a Sky3DS and a CFW, but with the added bonus of having a easy way of swapping games then on Sky3DS.

Then there's CFW, for those who don't have money or don't feel the need or want to use a Gateway.

I'm the type of guy who would use a CFW because I don't have the money for a Gateway and because of the CFW don't feel the need to use a Gateway.

I just have a gateway because that was my only real option at this time last year. It still works well for me and it gets stuff done without issue.

Anyways, getting off topic.

I'll be doing some looking at stuff and seeing what I can do throughout the day.

There are no recent updates except that Steveice10 has written some unfinished code involving memchunkhax2.

I feel like there's a lotta conflicting info out there about what we can do once we downgrade. N3DS users are still stuck on 9.5 emunand after downgrade, no?

Also is anything happening with ntrcardhax? I know it's a rather obscure one compared to the other 2 but.....

No. If you have N3DS you will be able to downgrade firmware to 9.2 and from there you can do whatever you want with CFW or emuNAND

ntrcardhax is basically sort of flair they added to presentation for laughts to show what they were working on first and then they showed they can do same thing without hardware which gave them serious claps from audience

no. ntrcardhax is valid form of getting into arm9 but there is better way which don't require hardware.

ntrcardhax will need special hardware to get arm9 kernel. You will need it to run CFW. But if you want to downgrade, you don't need it, ever.

Lol, I don't think it will happen, seriously, without knowing the N3DS bootloader and find an exploit in it before the keys are cleared.

Yeah i know. Keep forgetting there are o3ds users still. Had 4.5 i think fw on my o3ds i sold few weeks ago (before i started to look into homebrew) to change for n3ds.

Does emuNAND has some problems compared to proper sysNAND like online patching etc ? Asking because never used it.
