Nothing, you didn't release it for 125 seconds as said in the above post

i don't think you _have_ to release it, although i'm not sure how the eject button signals work...
honestly it'd probably be easier to recompile the code without all the eject button bullshit to see what happens.

Yeah, seems pretty straight forward with a few changes in epic.c

I just read this whole thread, and my conclusion is waninkoko spent way more time trying to make some pointless easter egg instead of trying to remember what his purpose was of this Cios and forgot to do things right and screwed up in the end. Sounds like a complete fail to me.

Uh, no?

You are a complete fail for posting!!! I doubt he spent much time at all on the easter egg. Imagine if he never entered the wii scene .... there probably wouldn't even be a usb loader available. His cios has helped so many people for a long time.

Most of his delay with the whole spanish soccer win baloney was him trying to buy more time to perfect an easter egg. Keep in mind he has been posting about it for some time so that was obviously his true focus, and more evident that he forgot to include some of his updated modules and there was even a hang bug in the installer. He failed with this update in a big way and he already knows it hence his twitter apology.

completely free software had a bug upon release? OH THE HUGE MANATEE!
paid apps, hey, have all the bugs you want, patch it later. but if I'm getting something for free I expect it to be PERFECT.

What I expect is if someone is going to hype up some major release and have the resources of many beta testers that the person wont go and waste his focus on some stupid easter egg and fumble the rest of what his motive was. Come one, just admit it, it was a fail. All mistakes are forgivable. The rest of what he has done has been good, but this one was a fail no matter how you look at it.

You apparently did not read waninkoko's twitter post where he said that something fucked up somewhere and he did not catch it until it was too late. My guess is that he was spending too much time trying to make this pointless easter egg. But yes, it was his mistake and it caused a fail. Everyone was expecting full triiforce support, and he was too, but his mistake caused that to not happen and make this version of cIOSx not be any bit better than rev19.

Like I said, just admit it was a fail. He already admitted his mistake so no point of arguing it with me.

How ungrateful of your part Tom191 to point and argue things about someone who did make a mistake... So what? Go to yell at Nintendo if Waninkoko did a mistake, not here as most of us are grateful of talented developers, incluiding Wanin, and you should also, because no one else besides our "mistaken homebrew programmers" are going to help us to squeeze our Nintendo Wii`s system through homebrews.

one mistake does not make the whole thing a fail.
if you think this is no better than rev19 you truly are a piece of work.

Oh come on. He was saying it was being beta tested way back in March, then said it would be out in June. Then July. Then finally it came out on the very last day of the month and it was broken. Just like his 4.3 "safe" updater that left quite a few people high and dry after their HBC was removed. It's pretty obvious he doesn't test his releases properly and that's a BIG fail when it's so easy to brick a wii.

The only thing anyone was really waiting for was triiforce working again, which apparently it did.
If wanin hadn't made such a big deal about fixing it, that it was being beta tested and then the whole drawn out teasing of the release it wouldn't have been so laughable.

With the amount of time he had between twittering the release log, the size of the installation package and then the actual release he had plenty of time for someone to test it.

However nobody actually tried it. Whether you love him because he gave you free games or not, it's still pretty embarassing for him.
You can say it doesn't matter to make him feel better if you want.

You know that that guy is sucessfully misleading everybody?

The code for the easter egg seems to be very simple and Waninkoko wrote it in about 10 min. What took some time is the fact that he wanted another trigger before, press something on a gamecube pad, but that didn't work out. Well in the end he made it very simple, and it worked already on the 1st test version.

Well if it's just a GIT problem it should only be a matter of getting back from holidays, recompiling and uploading the correct one (rev21). I don't see what the big fuss is all about. Sure, I want triiforce, too, but I can wait a week or two.

I really dont believe that is a discussion about how cIOS is good... Try to make your own and post here. When you do this you can say anything. Until so, if you are not happy, dont install it. Nobody is forcing you to install. If you dont like, dont use it.

Tom....shut the fek up

After people work so hard at lurking on gbatemp, spend so much of their own time begging for releases and mastering the art of annoyance...they really do deserve a flawless product. And I mean, come on! 20+ releases?! I'm sure that is some kind of record for the least supported Wii product, right!? It just goes to show how lazy some developers can be just 'cause they aren't getting paid. pfft.

You are right, but i'm getting paranoid:
- Rev17 is the last stable cIOS, all cIOS after that are broken, rev18 completely, rev19 broken nand emu, rev20 incomplete nand emu, IOS Reload block on discs without 002 fix, weird can't exit to HBC issue(well only for me, but...)
- He announced to leave the scene earlier and then suddenly came back
- The cIOS installer phones home now, which is why the 1st rev20 installer didn't work for some people

How about Waninkoko is working for nintendo now, not releasing anything that's better than the metods that are released so far, and providing infos about people who install the cIOS to nintendo...

Now i sit back and watch...
