We still don't know what triggers it (a timer is surely involved, but I dunno when it starts) and what it actually does by launching MIOS.

You are almost there, try to think the other way around. What trigger would you use? Oh and if you find out, please don't tell it to others...

If we are looking what triggers the start, maybe we need to start the trigger, as in the start button??

0x"1337"? Coincidence maybe?

I'm seeing the term MIOS around this thread...

Can't wait till it's found!!

take it a bit further. START is absent from the Wii controller. absent means something is not there. there sounds the same as their. their is a word that shows ownership. ownership ends in ship.
Therefore, the trigger is connecting the Wii to the free WiFi on a cruise ship.

Hmm... You're alright, bwillb.

So I guess we need one of the CMIOS installed for the easter egg to work? And where would we start trying to trigger it? In a USB Loader app that is using CIOSX rev20 as it's base, a game launched using CIOSX r20, or in the installer, or where? I mean, you don't just load the CIOS right...? It has to be triggered in a game/app that was loaded with the CIOSX? If it were USB loading of GC games, that would be an awesome easter egg, but WBFS would have to support storing GC games too for those of us who only have drives formatted with it.

Anyway, I'm sure it's a cool easter egg no matter what it is and thanks for the updated CIOSX Wanin... awesome work! p.s. anyone ever figure out the HBC easter egg? lol...

If that were the easter egg, I would be SO excited! Most of my games hardly even load anymore, I would have to be lucky if I could rip it from the disc to the loader...

But for now, before I do ANYTHING related to back ups, I need to buy a hard drive... My 2GB MicroSD card with a USB adapter (Came with my R4DS which I don't use much anymore), can only hold about 1-3 games depending on .wbfs size... Not enough!

lol... don't want to get any hopes up... I seriously doubt that USB GC loading would released just as an "easter egg"... It's more likely an embedded old school demo in GC mode, or something like that. I was just having some wishful thinking with that one...

So this does work with Triiforce? I'm still on rev14, because I read 18 and 19 aren't compatible with Triiforce. Also, if this is installed then the new Arc Rise won't work?

Thanks for any help.

for the easter egg, from the code and some googling i can get this much:
when the main thread is run it calls epic_init
epic_init queues a 500 second timer that causes epic_main to run
epic_main sees if the eject button is pressed and it increments a count and starts a 125 sec timer to recheck
the 5th time while the eject button is pressed it calls epic_trigger which makes the led blink, waits 5 secs, resets the dvd drive, waits 5 secs, and calls es_leetstuff,
i can't deduce what es_leetstuff does, it looks like it sends a 0x1337 command to the sd card but that doesn't really make sense

i dont think it has anything to do with the sd-card looks more it has todo with the dvd-drive ....

Couldn't find an answer for this, do the current versions of Waninkoko's CIOS have a fix for drives that spin down, like Hermes' CIOS does?

I don't see any 4.0 manager either. Latest version is 3.1.
