Wow! That was fast.....thanks a million for all your help.
That's good to know....now to find out what kind of chip I have, I heard I must open the wii and physically look inside....that's a bummer....they should have some software pkg that belts out all the hardware info...or something...
Thanks again !! Much appreciated.

Hey, this is a thread for dummies, so let me have a shot at it ....

I had installed some prior version of CIOSCORP, so if I want to get rid of it can I safely use the v3.5 Uninstaller I just found, or is that only safe if you were actually running v3.5 of CIOSCORP?

Rather than doing the entire downgrader, patch, upgrade, I thought the uninstaller would be the best route, but maybe not. Any thoughts on what it takes to completely remove CIOSCORP?

just use dop-IOS MOD to reinstall the latest unpatched versions of all IOS, except IOS36, which you should add trucha patch and ES_Identify to.

Using the cIOSCORp v3.5 Uninstaller will completely uninstall any version of cIOSCORP, as all it does is just install original IOS, but these IOS do not have trucha or ES_Identify patches (except for 40, 50, 60 and 70, which do).

Then you could just use DOP-IOS to add trucha and ES_Identify patchesto IOS36.

You could also use Det1re´s Uncorp if you want to get rid of cIOSCORP. This replaces all cIOSCORPED IOSs with hardcored clean NUS ones.
