Hacking Cios rev 14 error loading dual layer back up games

Before it is asked, I did my research but I am unable to find an answer.

I also do not want to risk playing around the IOS(s), so I seek guidance.

I am currently using 4.3 softmodded wii, I wanted to launch The sims 3 using backup launcher.
It has reported that Cios 249 Rev 14 has known issues installing/playing dual layer disk games and then it would restart the wii console.

I have installed cIOS Rev 21 by using a guide I found on google

Now I thought it would work but after trying to launch the game oncemore, Cios 249 Rev 14 remained.

I was just wondering, in the guide above had me install into slot 250, does this mean if I was to install it into slot 249 instead it would overwrite Rev 14 with Rev 21?

I don't have sound, so I have no idea why he told you to use 250. Yes if you installed it in 249 it would overwrite it, just like updating anything else, but I have no idea why you would want to stick with 14. If you installed it as IOS250, then you have to change your loader to use 250, and by default it uses 249, so it's still loading rev 14

I installed it to slot 250 and assumed that the loader would automatically switch to 250, as I have always followed guides and not bothered to understand how a Wii works.

In this post however I was asking why it was not working and how I should update slot 249 from cIOS rev 14 to rev 21.
