Hacking cIOS dumper is code dumping

Just wondering... If you select dump to SD and then pick a size with the cIOS DVD dumper v1.2 do you need to takeout the homebrew SD card and put in a newly formatted card? When I leave my homebrew-filled card in it errors and a big code dump screen comes up.
