In addition to the date announcement, this was said about the remake:
"Brand-new dungeons and an Arena mode add exciting new dimensions to this timeless classic"
We knew there would be a new dungeon, but now it's dungeonS. That's plural as in there will be more than one new one! And there's an arena mode. I don't know what that means exactly. Perhaps it's for the wireless play?
ESRB has rated Chrono Trigger DS E-10 for American audiences.
In news already known (but in case you missed it), all the anime cutscenes from the PSX game will be included. The DS remake will contain a few tweaks to handle the dual screens. There will be a world map on the overworld and a map ala' Final Fantasy 4 DS in dungeons that are said to fill up as you explore them. During battle, the battle menus will be on the bottom screen and the entire game may be controlled by the touch screen like Final Fantasy 3 DS (it's optional though). Whoever doesn't like these changes has the option to play the game in the classic single screen style (confirmed as an option by Square-Enix reps on the E3 floor). Also, the DS remake will be sporting a new English translation similar to the recent portable Final Fantasy remakes. Siliconera had this to say about the new translation on the E3 demo:
There are some expansions to the dialog that add on to the original translation. In the Super Nintendo version, when Crono's mother awakens him at the game's outset, she keeps it short and to the point, saying, "Ah, Leene's Bell makes such beautiful music! You were so excited about the Millennial Fair that you didn't sleep well, did you…? I want you to behave yourself today!" Now she is a bit more chatty, saying, "Dear me, I forgot how beautiful Lenee’s bells sound. You must have been so excited about the Millenial Fair that you couldn’t sleep last night, could you? Well, you had better not let that giddiness get you into any trouble. I want you to behave yourself today!"
