I'm confused. In my pops.txt folder I have "ms0:/SEPLUGINS/popsloader.prx" which is what I thought was all I needed? Do I need to put this line of text in vsh.txt as well? I'm pretty sure it doesn't say that in the guide on that blastprocessing site (stickied).

So all the pops files I have are pretty useless without that line in vsh.txt cuz I've been playing FFVII and I thought the pops files were helping...

If I put this in vsh.txt will a menu pop up each time I boot up a PS1 game?

Bump. So how do I make it so that a menu pops up asking for which popsloader to run when I start a PSX game?

if the menu doesn't pop up, that means you didn't install it properly. If installed properly, a menu should ALWAYS pop up as you are about to play the PSX game. Just go over the instructions on how to install the poploader.prx, and make sure you have written the correct lines in your vsh and all that.

well i finally got it working! all i had to do was hold r while the game was booting during the playstation compatibility screen and the menu popped up! i didn't realize i had to hold the button for that long..

10. Now, we need to enable PopsLoader. To do this, turn off the PSP (completely, not sleep mode). Hold the R-trigger while turning the PSP back on. This will put you into Recovery Mode. Go to Plugins, highlight “popsloader.prx [POPS] (Disabled)“, and press X. After a second, this should turn into “popsloader.prx [POPS] (Enabled)“. Go Back, and go to Exit. Your PSP will restart. You’ve now installed PopsLoader.

* So I’ve installed it, how do I use it?
It’s simple. The first time you run a new PSX game, you will be given a menu from which you can choose any of the old PopStation versions you’ve installed (”3.40 pops”, for example), or run the PopStation that’s in the firmware you’re running (”Original from flash”). The game will launch with that version of PopStation.

The next time you play that particular game, you won’t be asked again, PopsLoader will just automatically load the one you picked before. If you need to change it to a different version, all you need to do is hold R-trigger while launching the game from the XMB, and keep holding it until the PopsLoader menu appears. Now you can choose a different PopStation version.

I'm guess no one reads the stickies, even after they're linked back to a couple times per thread

Excellent.

So since I have 5.00 m33-3, I'll want to use popsloader 3.72.

Now I just need to figure out how to install the correct popsloader stuff onto my mem card.

Thanks a ton, War.

And if you're good with the popsloader stuff, info on that would be much appreciated too >.

Thanks. Just use the other means we have to supply it to Maddpierrot.
