10. Now, we need to enable PopsLoader. To do this, turn off the PSP (completely, not sleep mode). Hold the R-trigger while turning the PSP back on. This will put you into Recovery Mode. Go to Plugins, highlight “popsloader.prx [POPS] (Disabled)“, and press X. After a second, this should turn into “popsloader.prx [POPS] (Enabled)“. Go Back, and go to Exit. Your PSP will restart. You’ve now installed PopsLoader.
* So I’ve installed it, how do I use it?
It’s simple. The first time you run a new PSX game, you will be given a menu from which you can choose any of the old PopStation versions you’ve installed (”3.40 pops”, for example), or run the PopStation that’s in the firmware you’re running (”Original from flash”). The game will launch with that version of PopStation.
The next time you play that particular game, you won’t be asked again, PopsLoader will just automatically load the one you picked before. If you need to change it to a different version, all you need to do is hold R-trigger while launching the game from the XMB, and keep holding it until the PopsLoader menu appears. Now you can choose a different PopStation version.
