Cheats. I want them, many people want them. But, to get them, you first have to know how to get them. And that's why I opened this topic.

I want to ask a few questions about the cheats, how to 'install' them, where to download them and about the cheats database.

• The cheats in the database; Can I use them with an Acekard 2i?
• When I use the link to the database (Link), I see all kinds of files like; 09_01_09_All.zip, 09_01_09_CHEAT.DAT.zip etc. But, which ones do I need for an Acekard 2i? With AKAIO? I heard many people telling me that I could just pick some, but.. Which ones? Can I also take all of them?
• How do I install all the cheats on my Acekard 2i? I saw many guides and tutorials, but I could never find one which gave full information.

If you want to tell me that I have to search better, read better, don't be stupid etc. Then just go to another topic because I asked you guys a hundred times and I've never got the correct answers.

Just be nice, and do a good deed and help a poor dude like me by answering some questions..

usrcheat.dat is what yo uneed!

akaio is just firmware
it is a better firmware than the original
since you like using cheat than is better you use akaio
it got the best cheat engine of all flash cart
evidence? well mlrpg3 is the best answer

Thanks man, I appreciate it.
But, some people told me, that I could pick more and have a bigger cheats database.

Can I do this too?

By the way: There are also 'EDGE' files etc.. Is that for Acekard 2i too, or for another flashcart?

you can just use cheat.dat that's what i use on my Acekard2i that's all you will need

yes, but that one is old

Well, you can do that, but elixirdream said you only need the Urcheat.dat

But, why did Narin and the other people make the other files then? If someone with an Acekard 2i only needs that file, what's the point of the other files then? I know, like R4 users or DSTT users use other files, but.. why? And what if I take all files? If I only take the file elixirdream said, do I have the full database then? Can't I take more or something?

Can someone please explain to me what all files are and what the meaning of them is.. Because I'm getting crazy right here..

to put it simply, yes by using the usercheat,dat you have a full cheat DB you don't need anything else. the other files are just for the many other flash carts out there that need different cheat files. i use an acekard 2i as well and you won't go wrong with the usercheat.dat

the reason why we have ALL is because some people might just want them all?
some of us have multiple flash cart

therefore, we might just download the ALL .zip instead of 1 by 1

you can put whatever you had downloaded in to your cheat folder
but it will read only cheat.dat, usrcheat.dat or .xml
at the end of the day, you need to CHOOSE which DB you want to use!
so like what i had said earlier just use usrcheat.dat
if you had just updated the DB.. just remember to rebuild to have all new codes to show up

Finally, I'm out of the crisis..

I'm just taking them all and see which ones the flashcart can read, to hell with it! Muaha! (sorry Elixir, Imma take 'em all) So, the 'All' file has all inside of it right?

And now, for my ultra-super-mega final question:

Is there a guide which describes a full tutorial about setting the cheats up? (Which folder, how to install and make settings on the DSi) I already found this, but it doesn't say a thing about how you put it on the MicroSD and in AKAIO etc.

Personally, I download the "all" file because I have both the CycloDS and R4. While I don't use the R4 anymore, my friends' kids do. It's just easier for me to have them in one download than to have two separate downloads.

To put on an Acekard2i with AKAIO on you:

1) Get the cheats files and put them in :\__aio\cheats on your microsSD.
2)Put the sd back in then start it, press Start then click the arrows at the top until you reach "Default Patch Options"
3)Set "Select Cheat Database" to USRCHEAT.DAT
4)Exit these menus, saving the settings.
5) Choose the game you want to cheat.
6)With the game highlighted press Y then select "Cheats"
7)Press A on each cheat you want, and a tick will appear (to open subfolders press A)
8)With all the Cheats highlighted press Select to save it.
9)Then press Y again and click "Rom Settings"
10) Make sure "Cheats/Action Replay" is set to Enabled
11)Click OK and Save settings.
12)Then Start the game with your cheats eneabled!

Done.

But, just two questions for Wii_Manic: When you set-up the settings for the rom you said, do you set-up only that rom or all roms?
And, I also read something about 'Rebuild' on GBATemp? What's that?

When you set up a rom (guessing you mean set cheats to enabled?) it only turns cheats on for that Game.

The rebuild thing (i think) turns OFF all cheats for that game. (correct me if im wrong, not realy sure)

Rebuild is used to update your cheats for the game

for instance if i have 5 codes for the game
after adding another 5 codes for the game
that means now i have 10

on your ak2 it won't show that you have 10 unless you rebuild
