Hacking Cheats with CycloDS + EV 3-1?

I have a CycloDS and EV V cart and I am having one hell of a time figuring out how to get cheats working for GBA games. With the CycloDS and Action Replay it was no problem, but I've downloaded a few programs (GABSharky and GBAATM,) and couldn't get any cheats working. I also can't really find any solid tutorials on how it works, I mainly find stuff just pertaining to the EV V not bundled with the CycloDS.

Currently I'm trying to get codes working for Pokemon FireRed, but I'd like the ability to enable cheats with any GBA games. Can someone point me in the right direction or help me understand what to do?

Unfortunately, there is no easy, Action Replay-like cheat system for GBA games like there is for DS games. The only way to use cheats on GBA games is with GBAATM. If you are having trouble with it then check the official topic: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=99334
