thanks, downloaded this, will try it later!

edit: renaming the filenames kinda sucks. owell. too bad it couldn't automatically use the code list based on the games header or something like that.

Here's a fairly complete collection from exportcheats.com. At least it has genghis khan ii codes:

https://github.com/h3xx/dotfiles/tree/master/snes9x/cheats

There's a real need for an "emulation renamer", eg: it would look at the source rom folder, renamed perfectly with tosec or goodsnes, then rename all the files in the destination folder based on similar names.

Now if I could only get the mess gui working, I'd be happy.

anyone have a cht for the japanes or Chrono Trigger (USA) [En by Doctor L v1.01].1 version of chrono trigger usa cheat dont work and cant find the japan or the cht necesary to make work

You can download cheats from gamehacking.org. Just find the game, select the cheats you want, and download them, select the emulator you want. (obviously in this case snes9x. Then rename the file and put it in the appropriate location on the storage device to load with the emulator. Or just load the rom in a emulator that has cheat adding, put the codes you want, to make the cheat file then copy them to the wii emulator :)

  1. Didn't you ask for USA cheats as well? O_o
  2. Why are you playing the JAP game if the english rom exist?
  3. If you really want Jap cheats, perhaps you can find them or make them yourself and then add them to the text file and use them on the wii.

thats the name of the rom i donloaded its a translated of the japanese version but i have used the usa cheats and they dont work due to it being a japan rom

To add more cheats to a SNES9x gx.cht file you can use this format IN the .cht file itself ( *what I mean is inside the file as you open it. Just like a text file* )

EXAMPLE

cheat
name: Fast Level Gain (1 of 2)
code: 7E1950=FF

cheat
name: Fast Level Gain (2 of 2)
code: 7E1951=FF

**if you go to "gamehacking" site and search for cheats there you can download the file in SNES9x 1.75 format. This worked for me and I hope it does for you ( im addressing this words to the new people who find this post as a search result )

***The site mentioned above has a ZNES file which I assume must work because when you open it it has the same GIBERISH you find on a "normal" cht database download you get online... ( i havent tried tho )

Please pardon my language OP this is not for you is for the Internet in general

DAMN IT!!! No one the internet has explained how does this app recognize the Cheats INSIDE the .cht so here I AM on 2024 addressing this issue.

I chose this thread because it was the 1st top on search. I even remember i made an account here just for the same reason but for the 3DS version which uses .CHX ...

These people should make an universal consensus to this this things and explain far more than " you need to rename the .CHT file the same as the rom" OF COURSE !!! BUT THE FORMAT INSIDE THE TEXT FILE, CAUSE THATS WHAT IT ACTUALLY IS!!! MUST BE WROTE IN A CERTAIN WAY. SO ALL THIS JUST TO LEAVE THIS HERE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME HOPE THIS REALLY HELP ALL OF YOU. BEST WISHES PUÑETA

It dont work for me at all. I turn on the cheats, and tried most of them for Super Mario Kart, (and yes, i named them the same) and none of them work. Am i doing something wrong? I even tried Mario World and none worked. I really wanted to drive through the wall :(

If you go to the original GitHub site of Snes9xGX you can find a proper "Cheats" download, which are prepared files for Snes9XGX. Trust me on this one, I've tried to use RetroArch Cheat files and they're not compatible with Snes9xGX.
