Hacking cheats doesn.t work

i have recently upgraded to the 1.5 firmware and i tried activating some cheats on pokm platinum but the cheat doesnt activate. I also tried replacing the usercheat.dat but still doesnt work. Does anyone know the problem?

Make sure you have rom settings options up,then change cheats to enabled instead of Default and hole X or B or both when launching the game,someone told me when cheats dont work to do that,I never played the game but its a idea.
