Hacking Cheating on trimmed roms

I've been reading up on trimming roms and had a question - if a rom is trimmed, will the cheats still work for the game, or will the link between the two be broken if the rom size is altered?

I guess another way of asking this would be: if a rom is trimmed, does the game ID change? If so, will the cheat no longer work?

yes, they will work if you trim them..

and if the name of the game is like "Elite Beat Agents.nds" it will change to "Elite Beat Agents_trm.nds" but you can change the name, just dont erase the ".nds" and it really depends on the trimmer your using, which one are you using??

Haven't used a trimmer yet, but I'm thinking of using NDSTokyoTrim since it supports batch and zip (rar) trimming.

Is that a good one to use, or is there a better option?
