yeah I was. the master code is one of the codes I can download with aio switch updater.

This is the master code I use
{Xenoblade Chronicles v1.1.2}

And that's the only master code available for download. what's the setup pointer code I need to make your codes work? and which codes are your codes and which are not?
alright, i'll look into it, i need to actually start play 2 before 3 comes out. but i will start with 1 first and see if i can improve them but at the time of writing those codes, there was no problems before....
the codes i listed that used a 6X0C01F0 XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX had a higher chance of being my codes.

on sxos they would just freeze the game make it not start but once you turned those codes off and didn't use them the game would start and work perfectly. unfortunately atmo doesn't have that same internal cheat option like sxos does and atmo relies on homebrew like breeze and edizon to handle it's cheats unlike sxos does. sxos handles cheats internally within itself and that's what makes it more reliable than atmo when using cheats imho. but unfortunately sxos is now dead and doesn't support the newer fw and won't ever support the newer fw so atmo is now the only choice to use for jailbreak.

so some of codes i must have written down wrong, once i change the register on those codes, no more freezing. do you have a save before a boss battle where the codes are not working? i just tried them with metal face, but that was a scripted battle.

I think I'm about to hit a boss bc I just got melia and the next boss is coming up right after I hit the noppon base and I'm about to hit that. Then some time after that is the second battle with metal face where you see seven for the first time. Are any of your codes related to the money and noppon stones bc those also don't work at all for some reason.

now i could be wrong, but the use of the b register combine with asm is leading me to believe those are from KaitoB.

As far as reliability is concern it is very hard to say if a cheat code is better just by this attribute(whether pointer or ASM). One thing can be said of pointer code is it is never known for sure if a pointer is going to be good through out. For ASM some of the time the hacker can have fairly high confidence that that is the one by observation of the game code behavior.

the current codes are easier to find/rebase but they still have a chance to fail. asm code alter game programming so while it harder to find/code for it, it also is less likely to fail. (unless you either have the wrong address or programming it wrong.....)

well, you're not wrong. but asm code do require more extensive testing before they can be consider a good code. for example, my astria ascending codes, when i first found the hp and mp code, and re-wrote how they worked, it did work for my team...........and also for the enemy team as well. this was back when i was asking for advice and help on how to proceed, and with tomvita's advice on reading instead of writing, i found the code that was posted for version 1.0.132, i think?

I get that asm codes are harder to program but for someone that has zero programing skills are they easier to use in the game? and did you get a chance to redo your codes in the asm code format?

Kind of, I managed to convert the speed mod code, however the talent gauge code does not seem to like Melvia, as she's Kind of glitching if you're not controlling her, for example, in one battle she kept constantly doing the the summon for power effect and wouldn't stop doing that. Sharla however was the biggest concern however because the original code puts everybody Talent gets too full, But for Sharla, this means her rifle is constantly overheated. I think I have it just about down, including the checks for Sharla and melvia. However I don't know if I should include a option to switch melvia from empty gauge to full gauge if you're controlling her or not
