if you want to print at decent quality much higher res is needed
why not try a white background with a black outline and see how that fits and adjust it as needed?
one guy above suggested like a 3000*2000 image i think
the screen adjusts light internally to get each pixel to be a certain color. For the printer to do the same it has to mix lots of different colored pixels.

I know about the higher-res = higher print part, let's say I'm using the MadCatz software, it will only show a part of the pic if it's too big, that's why I asked for the canvas size, so I can resize it in PS so that I can use it in MadCatz, if I print in PS with a resolution that high, won't it be too big for the DS? And about the white BG, black outline test part, it might consume quite some time (especially on my less than amusing laptop).

How about the paper? What should I use?

Hahaha, maybe we should start a post for people to share their designs for those of us who lack artistic skills of any sort. xD

I just got my case a few days ago. Awesome quality! I have some NRL (Australian Rugby League) team as my cover. No idea who they are, but it looks pretty cool.

Love the Gears of War one!

Their software only exports to 72 DPI bmp (which won't give you much detail at all), so I made a Photoshop template at 600 DPI which you can find here:
http://www.dzgraphics.com/downloads/dslite..._template_2.zip

Just wanted to thank you for the template. I'd made my own template then finally got around to printing out my image only to find it too small. Not initially sure where I went wrong then, after reading this post, I'd noticed that when I upped the DPI of the Customizer's output pic I screwed up the image's dimensions...making it about the size of a postage stamp. :/

At any rate, thanks to your template I can restart my skinning project and have it actually come out right this time.

I might Pick one up at my Fry's today, seeing as it's only about 15 minutes away. I hope it lets my DS close all the way unlike My old NERF case (Mainly I didn't like that because it made the DS not able to fit in my pocket)

any guides on how to use the PS templates??
what resolution of image is required? I just don't understand the DPI thingy...

Thanks.

question i have been hearing that it does not let the ds close all the way. I normally do bring my ds out with me and put it in my pocket with no case will it not being closed all the way mess up the ds in any way?

Hi guys, Dazinith's template link at 600 DPI from the first post doesn't work, can anyone upload it please? Or give me some tips how to make my own 600 DPI template, so I can have more detail than is at the Madcatz program? Thanks!
