I dont believe it can be done automatically.

There is a wad you can install in vwii called ConnectMii that turns the Wii/RiiConnect24 on and activates idle mode for vwii. Speeds up the process a little

Workaround: Install the hbl2hbc forwarder: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-wiiu2hbc-a-hbl2hbc-forwarder-channel.455991/ put hbl2hbc on your SD card, create a "hbl2hbc.txt" in the root of your SD with the title id of the ConnectMii channel (DCOA) and you can start the hbl2hbc forwarder, which in turn will start ConnectMii24 channel in the Wii Menu (if you don't have it, use the RC24 Patcher).
Bonus: It also won't ask you to point the WiiMote at the screen.

If only we could install that over the Wii Menu icon in the Wii U's HOME menu...
