Hey Everyone,

So this is my 2nd day trying to figure out how I can turn Star Sapphire into a CIA. Had multiple trial and error along the way, but this is the one time I can't figure out, no matter how much research I've done.

I have compiled the CIA using @Asia81 guide (MANY TIMES). Unfortunately, using the 3DS Simple Converter makes my CIA error out on boot. It installs just fine, but as soon as I boot it up, "an error has occured" message pops up.

I then used Just Another 3DS to CIA Converter (https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-just-another-3ds-to-cia-converter.423674/). This actually works for my system for some reason and the CIA boots up. However, this one stays on a black screen.

Based on some research, I have stumbled across a couple of threads explaining titleid for ORAS.

FYI, I used the HANS method and it works. The rom hack is fine. HOWEVER, I would much prefer to use a CIA than using the HANS method. I basically don't even have a use for the Homebrew Channel anymore, as A9LH is wonderful on running anything I need.

I've changed the TitleID multiple times to different ones, and I fail every time. Maybe I'm not sure how the whole TitleID thing works and I'm hoping someone can shed some light.

Optional: If you want, you can also edit the TitleID of your game.
Open your DecryptedExHeader.bin in HxD, and check the Offsets on the Left, you have the TitleID on the right (Be careful, it's reversed):

In this picture, it's the TitleID for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

I also have a question about this. What does it mean that the TitleID is reversed? Are there any example changes I can follow to make this work?

I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get! Many thanks!

it's reversed as in the title id is "000400000011C500" and reversing the highlighted numbers results in "000400000011C500"

so instead of it being 00 04 00 00 00 11 C5 00 in a hex editor, you switch the order.

btw switching the title id, unique id, and serial does not work at all. I've tried multiple times and I haven't gotten it to work even once.

Same. I've attempted several different titleIDs, UIDs and Serials... I was honestly curious if anyone had any success doing so. Trying to keep both my original eshop copy and the hacked rom. :o

That's really unfortunate. Guess the game has a check in place for modified titleID? I assume since it only seems to be with this game.

I'm also working on making a star sapphire .cia at this very moment and experiencing a similar problem.
I am trying different things atm. If you get it working, let me know!

Don't think so. The files aren't CRO locked.
cro is patchecd with lume 5.5

I edited the TitleID in the ExHeader, and in all NCCH partition, but still result in a black screen, I can't figure why...

I tried to edit C5 11 to 69 48 (So replace UniqueID 11C5 to 4869)

Have you tried to use makerom with an rsf file?

Not really.
I just used it for an example (for the screenshot), as well I could take another game.

Ok, that is really disappointing. Do you think anybody will be able to figure it out? I really want to be able to have the original game too. Also multiple rom hacks if it comes to it.
