Hey Everyone,
So this is my 2nd day trying to figure out how I can turn Star Sapphire into a CIA. Had multiple trial and error along the way, but this is the one time I can't figure out, no matter how much research I've done.
I have compiled the CIA using @Asia81 guide (MANY TIMES). Unfortunately, using the 3DS Simple Converter makes my CIA error out on boot. It installs just fine, but as soon as I boot it up, "an error has occured" message pops up.
I then used Just Another 3DS to CIA Converter (https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-just-another-3ds-to-cia-converter.423674/). This actually works for my system for some reason and the CIA boots up. However, this one stays on a black screen.
Based on some research, I have stumbled across a couple of threads explaining titleid for ORAS.
1. https://gbatemp.net/threads/regarding-official-patches-and-romhacks.424420/#post-6295937
2. https://gbatemp.net/threads/pokémon-rutile-ruby-and-star-sapphire-or-as-challenge-mode-romhack.400937/page-12#post-6221297
FYI, I used the HANS method and it works. The rom hack is fine. HOWEVER, I would much prefer to use a CIA than using the HANS method. I basically don't even have a use for the Homebrew Channel anymore, as A9LH is wonderful on running anything I need.
I've changed the TitleID multiple times to different ones, and I fail every time. Maybe I'm not sure how the whole TitleID thing works and I'm hoping someone can shed some light.
==============
Optional: If you want, you can also edit the TitleID of your game.
Open your DecryptedExHeader.bin in HxD, and check the Offsets on the Left, you have the TitleID on the right (Be careful, it's reversed):
In this picture, it's the TitleID for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
=============
I also have a question about this. What does it mean that the TitleID is reversed? Are there any example changes I can follow to make this work?
I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get! Many thanks!
