Hacking Change of Flashcart?

I have a lot of people at school wanting to buy my R4 and i'm wondering if maybe it will be worth it to change to another flash card like a SCDS1, Cyclo or Acekard R.P.G. What do you think?

lol. If the suckers at school want to shell out for your R4 without knowing the cost I would get some HUGE PROFIT off of it if you can push your morals aside. Once you have gotten some dough I recommend a better flash cart. DEFINITELY NOT THE CYCLO. The cyclo DS has had many DOA problems in their latest batch of shipments. DOA means Dead on arrival. You wouldn't want to get your cyclo to find out it doesn't work do you? Go look at the reliability thread on the cyclo boards here and check it out for yourself. I wouldn't get one if I were you but your choice.

That leaves the acekard RPG which is great IMO. IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT.

Defnitely change to a Cyclo if you can cover the cost, if not, then the R4 is just fine.

Ditto. As far as I can discern from everything I've read, the R4 and CycloDS are the best 2 choices for flashcarts. One HUGE bonus the CycloDS has is SDHC support.


My suggestion is to keep what you already have and tell these people where to get their own. If you want to upgrade, then, and only then, consider selling off your old card.

Acekard RPG isn't that good, in my opinion. He'd be better off with an M3DS Real or a CycloDS Evolution.

-The Open Source part of the AKRPG failed.
-Download Play sucks, hard. (I don't believe they fixed it yet.)
-The GUI is kinda bland and boring.
-It's only gimmick now is the ability to use MicroSDs and the NAND.

While I wouldn't be THAT hard on Nero I would say most of his comments are ill supported if not completely wrong.
1.) Open source failed? Well that's your opinion. I can't change that although I strongly disagree.
2.) Completely wrong. Go check out the new loader and the GBATemp review. It has full DL play support.
3.) Again opinion, but show me another card that has more attractive GUI and a fresher opening screen. It is obvious RPG team took a lot of time on their product.
4.) Great feature.

i'm just saying people need to be careful.. cause i remember when DSX came out.
it sounded great on paper, and the reviews were astounding.. so i b ought it.. big mistake..

but i do own a M3R now.. and so far it's been sweet..

Keep the R4 as its a great card. Value and performance the Cyclos is overpriced. If you don't mind the price I'd say sure pick that up if you want. But R4 and M3 DS Real are great cards for the money. Just as good

I wouldn't get rid of it even if I did get other cards. I have 7 cards in total atm

and still the R4 is my favourite
