So I just got a PSP and I am waiting for my Pandora's battery. But I want to have CFW now, and I'm afraid my battery may take two or three weeks to arrive. So I found this guide. I have a Madden blue psp, which I think has a hackable motherboard. My questions are:

1. Is installing CFW without a Pandora's Battery have the same result as doing it with a Pandora's Battery?
2. Which method is safer?
3. Will I be able to play games from my memory stick?
4. Can I install GEN on my psp if it has been hacked without a pandora's battery. If yes, how?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for the help!

If you're on a firmware lower than or on 5.03 then get chickHEN R2 and then run PSPident and post the picture that will be on your memory stick root onto here.

Both are available from my thread (link in sig).

Also, not be be rude, but why do I need to do the things you told me to do? I checked my box and know my psp is hackable.

Just so I can figure out everything about your PSP....that makes me sound intrusive, lol.

So yeah, download and install 5.03, run chickHEN then PSPident and I can figure out what to do from there.

Screw that guide. This one is far better.

1. Yes, you will have the exact same results.
2. I think the non-Pandora method is safer because the latest version of Hellcat's Recovery Flasher will not install CFW on your PSP if it is not hackable.
3. Yes.
4. Yes. From 5.00 M33 that HCRF installs, get the installer for 5.50 GEN-D from PSPSlimHacks and then install it in 5.00 M33. The instructions are included IIRC. Then, upgrade to 5.50 GEN-D2.

You can buy it at any length @homedepot wire cutting area cheaper than buying preformed cable, but you have to put on your own ends/ connectors.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I still like DTV but the wire wasn't long enough to reach the window still pick up 40 channels

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea me too, esp for local news, sports, or channel surfing. I get like 60 channels but there's like 15 shopping networks, and bunch other bs, religion, Hispanic, etc. I went thru and blocked most those on tv channel settings.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is 1 Hispanic channel I kept, sometimes they have soap operas on it, w scandalous clothed hotties, I just beat mute it.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Ah yes the Juan channel order 15 pairs of feet
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I got this antenna but the damn thing has usb power right next to the coax plug and you can't actually extend it without usb extension the Pic makes the cable look longer than it actually is https://a.co/d/501IQf2
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Use a old phone/ USB charger block thing, plug into wall instead of tv usb. Use cheap extension cord if need.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
You still need usb extension because coax end cord is the same length
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh I thought you were gonna extend the coxial cable with another 10 footer
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I am but you need both to make it work
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    I meant like this.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You don't have to use the tv usb, any USB 5v will power it. USB extention cables are not cheap either, so this would be cheaper way.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
The coax to the tv is at the same port as the power
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
All soldered into the pcb so you can't just unscrew it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Use a cable coupler to extend it from there.

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yeah but you have to have extension to usb also it's the same length basically
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
They're both on the same end
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yes that's the goal but it still may not fit the wall plug from the window
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    They're cheap anyway a 10ft usb cable is $5

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Your tv may also even have an option to turn off USB power when tv off, will save a little money on power.
  • AdenTheThird @ AdenTheThird:
Maybe it's just because it's two in the morning, but watching a conversation about TV power source logistics using google images and a paint app is fucking hilarious

Yea I'm on my tablet and using a lame paint app, it sucks. I'm too lazy to get out of bed and fire up PC.
