I've got an unopened 4.1 OFW unpatched console that I would like to get custom firmware on. From what I understand, CFW is supposed to work on all firmwares, but 5.1 comes with exFAT support allowing for larger files. I'd like to keep my firmware on 4.1, or keep it downgradeable for the future as a warmboot solution may release requiring <4.1.0. Should I upgrade to 5.1 without burning fuses? Only issue with that is I'd need to enable autorcm, and I currently do not have a dongle to send payloads. This would essentially tether my switch. What are my options here in terms of CFW, updating, exFAT support?

Anyway, i put a warning on this.
I used that and while everything seemed to works fine. When it comes to ReiNx, it asks for ExFat update (but all seems working on official firmware).
I restore some stuff and back to Fat32, now ReiNx works fine.

Make sure your back up everything asked.

How are you managing with Fat32? Are you splitting files?

I don't. I'm waiting for someting to fix that or it would update for 5.x

To install exFat on ReiNX you can follow the below guide:

Thx. That might be helpful.
Anyway i won't do it yet because i have no idea what it does. I don't see any mention about ExFat/issue here :(

Other versions can have exfat. the problem is that you need to install the exfat driver. If you want to download it from nintendo you must update to 5.1 first. There are XCI files for games that include firmware updates, these also have the exfat driver in them. There are tutorials for installing exfat on 4.1 without connecting to nintendo.

I've got the needed FS.kip1 for ExFat support on 4.1.0 (with sigpatches). Since I found it quite frustrating to use only FAT32. I can upload it later if it is needed.
Thanks a lot @Zocker4444 for your feedback, I've got the same problem.
Could you please share "FS.kip1" for ExFat support on 4.1.0 (with sigpatches) file?

Edit: I works! I really appreciate your help!
Again, thanks a lot.
