Ok so i know psp hacking isnt making any great strides lately but I just got a psp 3000 today so. 50 bucks 13 games good ones actually too.

So it had 6.61 and i know that pro c and some of the others work on 6.61.

Unfortunately i cant seem to get plugins working like cwcheat. Cant even see them in the recovery mode plugin part in pro.

So my questions are: any way to get this working?

What should i read? As i see very little pertaining to 6.61 cfw.

Should i just downgrade and how would i go about this? And what about online access like the store?

I dont need babysitting just point me in the right direction.

Thanks guys!

I updated my 2000 model to 6.61 Pro CFW and found it broke almost all of my plugins. I would suggest sticking with 6.60 CFW. The only reason 6.61 is even a thing is because ONE game was released that required an extra couple of features at the extreme end of the PSP's lifecycle. I believe Chronoswitch 6.1 ought to be able to help you out in downgrading to 6.60 (at least it fixed my blunder of updating). As a final note, CIPL flashing (permanent CFW) is a great way to go if you're sick of rebooting to CFW after loading up the OFW. There's always the risk of bricking your PSP running the install, but I've done it a few times on mine (twice for 6.60 and once for 6.61) with no fallout. As far as the store is concerned, unless you don't want to pirate, you should be able to get just about anything you want with CFW running on it. My brother was also able to hook up my PSP to his PS3 to load a couple of legitimate games onto it, but this was before the 6.61 update. I hope that helps.

You should actually be able to "port" your saves on over. As far as I know you can just drag and drop and it will work.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
