Homebrew CFW gone wrong

I wouldn't say it if I didn't know first hand. I've tried it twice and it's worked.

On a 2ds it will crap up his system due to him being on o3ds firmware not 2ds firmware. Leading to brick or his system being very very craped up

I have 2 O3DS' so the 2DS should work. I can only go off what I know.

03ds does not equal 2ds

It's still beyond me how people are able to brick/mess up their DS's with tools that are virtually brick-free in % chance. The 3ds.guide page mentions everything in a CRYSTAL CLEAR way, step by step "do this and don't do that. If this happens do that". Cmon guys

So the console is on 2.1 yeah? Put all the files from what it says on installing arm9loaderhax on the sd card then continue it.. not difficult

Updating from 2.1 only bricks if you are updating from a n3ds. Updating a o3ds/2ds from 2.1 shouldn't brick. The reason it bricks the n3ds is because 2.1 existed before the n3ds, and thus it will just assume you have an o3ds and download/install an o3ds firmware.
Maybe you should know more about 3ds hacking before trying to help others.

You do realize the 2ds uses the exact same firmware as the o3ds, and the firmware can't see a difference between the two?
Meaning you can perfectly update a 2ds from 2.1 without bricking.
What will brick you on a 2ds is formatting the console below 6.0, because you won't be able to turn the 3ds slider on to advance the initial setup (though apparently there is a fix for that now too).

I already knew updating a new 3ds will brick it due to it not being out yet and installing old 3ds firmware leading to brick. Either way if what you said is right or not it is not a good idea to update. Just because i dont know a ton about 2ds's dosent mean i need to go hit the 3ds hacking books before commiting my advice in the comment section.
