lol @ all the iPod users satisfied with mediocre sound quality and 128 kbps AAC and MP3s from iTunes. 8GB Cowon D2 here with 2 16GB SDHC cards for 40GB of space. It also has support for OGG Vorbis and lossless FLAC. Woohoo!

Seeing that you can replace the microdrive of the Zen Micro with a 32GB CF card, I might try doing that if I can pick one up for cheap. 32GB CF cards are going to be about $150 anywhere I look though, even eBay ):

if you sign up under the link in my sig you can help me though

hmmm ... I've had 7 or 8 MP3 players, over the years ... I currently own, not including my phone, which not only has MP3 playback, but external media buttons, 2 ... a 32GB iPod Touch & a 1gb MP3 built into a NES controller, which I purchased from Harsky, on this very site, at the weekend.

I can remember hearing about MP3s for the first time.

"So... you can listen to music how?"
"Wait, where does the CD go"
"Hold on, music from the PC, nah. I'll just use my CD player for now"

I didn't get a proper HDD MP3 player until I got an iriver which I broke because I used the wrong adapter with a higher rated voltage. Nowadays, I have to have video playback on my MP3 player.

Goddamn, imagine paying the same price for an itouch for an MP3 player with 128mb. You can't even FIND 128mb mp3 players anymore.

No, really, how did you get to that claim from what he wrote in his post?

Seriously.

I've have an iPod 4th Gen with a black and white screen since it came out... (replaced battery a year ago) and thats it.

Anyone who says iPods break easily can't be treating them right.

MiniDisc is still used by audio professionals. nothing beats it for portable digital recording.

Uh, what? Surely the quality of the recording is the codec, not the format. I wouldn't use MP3 for portable recording, but I wouldn't use ATRAC either.
