I have a WiiKey 2 + WiiClip coming in.
I don't have any DVD's yet, but I do have CD's.

I have a scrubbed ISO down to ~200MB, so can I burn it to a CD-R instead of a DVD?
Will the Wii read it?

Also, can I burn the WiiKey 2 updates and config files to a CD?

There are other methods to updating it. If you have access to Zelda:TP (and your Wii's firmware is 3.2 or under) or can run homebrew already then you can extract the .dol from the iso and run it just as any other homebrew.

Ah, that's too bad.
Will DVD+R's work?

Yes they will. As long as the media is good either + or - will work fine. Verbatims are the best for single layer.

I hope DVD+R's won't kill the laser like what I read!

That is a vague reference to what media you are using. Most media manufacturers have discs that are manufactured with different dyes and from different facilities. The result can be that a disc from one spindle can be good while a disc from another can be absolute crap. You can get the ID of your discs in most burning programs and check it against this page. You should get some Verbatims +R or -R when you can. They seem to be the best for single layer discs.

This would not work because the homebrew channel only boots Wii homebrew. Since the updates are in Gamecube mode, it'd be Gamecube homebrew, and it can't boot from the Homebrew Channel. Long story short, this method would not work. Just get a 50 pack of DVD-R's at Walmart. They run at about $20 now.
