Castlevania: Devilish Resemblance
NES remake demo

Frosty Chaotix has released a demo of the engine in his upcoming game, Castlevania: Devilish Resemblance. The game is to be based on the original Castlevania on the NES. The demo just has one room. Download below.

Aw man, I thought it was something else...
Good work anyway - I look fwd to see its progress.

I'll check it out when he's done with it. I hate messing around with incomplete games.

Me too. I love this series. So I know once I play this one single room I'll be craving more of it.

I'll wait around and see if the game ever gets finished. It looks great though.

This will not be completed. Once Konami finds out about this project they will have no choice but to shut it down. If they don't, they will lose the ability to enforce the trademarks and copyrights that this is violating.

I'm pretty sure that's patent law (I made the same mistake in the Starlite discussions), but they'll C&D for sure. I only hope the engine continues to live with a new graphic set and theme, 'cause I hate it when so much work goes down the crapper.

great stuff, why wont he release his own game? use the engine and make a Castlevania clone, like all those Mario clones.

According to Wikipedia (the source of all True Facts), if trademarks are not enforced, anyone can apply to have the trademark unregistered by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Source.

If you whip just as you hit the ground, your whip freezes behind you can stays in place(relative to the screen).

hey, good work! when it gets pushed further to allow making real games, i'd rather like to see one that doesnt rely too heavily on a license.

it would be a shame if the engine goes to waste just for "graphics"
