    I say cart, because initially (like on the GBA) they were called game cartridges [IMG]

    So, GBA Flashcarts and before should be called Flashcarts, and Slot-1 DS Flashcarts should be called Flashcards, because they're in form of a DS Game Card.

    Or something like that. I still prefer Flashcart though [IMG]

    I say either flashcart (short for flashcartridge) or you could say flash kit.

    Doesn't really matter to me whether someone uses flashcard or flashcart - I get the idea!

    It is if it's an official Nintendo, or Nintendo endorsed, product ... but not if it's an unofficial product.

    For the GBA Games, they are Game Cartridge(s).

    For the DS Games, the name's DS Game Card.

    You can look at the names at your own DS, too.

    IMO:

    GBA games, slot-2 expansion doodads == cart
    NDS games == card
    flash memory (like SD or CF or what have you) == card

    I alternate the spelling every now and then. I feel backup playing hardware should be a flashcart (flash cartridge), while "flashcard" is a name more suited to memory cards. So you put your flashcard in your flashcart (unless it has built-in memory [IMG] ).

    Of course, this "logic" won't stop me from spelling it any damn way I please any given post.

    I think that DS media should be called "cards", and GBA media "carts". A DS card is similar in design to memory cards, and the GBA's media is similar in design to cartridges.

    Why do you have two topics? Just ask a mod to move it over to here and add the poll. And like I said before, I use cart.

    I normally refer to them as flashcarts, regardless if it's DS or GBA.
