just buy it on disc? you are only punishing yourself buying the download, online downloads are always riddled with unfair DRM thats why i prefer buying the disc.

...? You don't fix a problem with another. Some people don't have internet access 100% of the time.
Indeed. I use a PS3, and my Internet connection is anything but stable.

On good days, I can sign in and have some PSN fun. On bad days, it's offline all the way.

And that sucks. For me at least

Out of all of the PC games I've bought in the last two years each one has some some sort of stupid DRM on them either SecureRom or Steam (these are all disc based purchases) and a few have had online activation on them as well. So is that fair even though I bought a legit disc based copy?

This is why I won't buy PC titles unless it is exclusive or a 360 game that I can't play since I don't own a 360. It has to be something I really want to play. I'm seriously not considering not playing the new Deus Ex and Duke Nukem games on anything other than a console because of this fact alone.

A couple facts that seems to be sorely lacking in this thread.

Sony supplied this DRM to any of their 3rd party publishers so far ONLY Capcom has used it in their releases (Final Fight Double Impact / Bionic Commando Rearmed 2). Capcom did NOT develop it as I've been incorrectly reading so far. (They're just stupidly using it and gaining the ire of their fans because of it)

Well at least there isn't that kind of DRM on the 360 and possibly the future PC ports.

There almost certainly will be this kind of thing on the PC. Most people who buy the game will end up running pirated copies. It's pretty much standard practice with PC games which you don't care about online on. Has been for more than a decade now.

Sounds fine to me. I have my PS3 on auto log-in anyway. I can see how it'll be bad for some people, but almost everyone I know has their PS3 set up that way.
