Hardware Can't update 3DS XL

For the past couple of hours I tried updating my 3DS XL to the latest version but to no avail. I get a generic "An error has occurred unable to update. The system will now be restarted." I've tried putting the IP of the 3DS to DMZ on my router to avoid connection issues but to no avail.

I have never hacked the 3DS but did hack my Switch. Could my the 3DS be banned because I might have used the same account for the eshop? Or is it some other issue?

You posted in the wrong section, in your case just check your eshop it will tell you if you are ban or not, if you are ban then you can't do system update.

Make sure you haven't been banned, you can check on the Eshop
