Can't install Visual C++ express edition

after installing vista ultimate, i tried installing visual C++ express edition but whenever it goes to install .net 3.5 framework it stops.
i tried countless times but nothing happens!!
dunno what to do!!

If there's an option, don't install .net framework 3.5 and then download it and install it yourself.

Make sure your computer is fully updated (SP1) with all the other .net frameworks installed.

It just takes forever, a lot longer then XP. Try waiting more.

There's a bug where it seems like it's stopped but it really isn't. Just wait. A loooooong time.

(dealt with this issue before)
