Hacking Can't install updates to backups?

Have a backup installed and an update was released for the game. I press the update icon on the live area screen and it downloads just fine but when I try to launch the game to install the update it gives me an error. Anyone else experiencing this?

I don't think him "owning" the game has anything to do with the update not applying. Flow has mentioned in previous tweets that there are some (small) modifications made to the eboot when it is dumped. This could be why we are unable to install "official" updates.
