Hacking Can't enter setting under gateway mode without reverting

GW never shows up next to firmware after entering gateway mode and entering settings again.

I'm trying to update emunand to 8.xx, but I don't want to unintentionally update sysnand.

Any ideas?

Gateway works fine, but obviously none that require higher than 4.x

pick format emunand in the gateway menu(backup your SD contents first).....gateway mode is not the same as emunand, just because you can launch games doesnt mean you have emunand installed,
the GW3D sting in system settings, will only show up once you have emunand installed

Are you sure you're booting from emuNAND? It only shows "GW" if you're on emuNAND.
Is your GW updated to the latest version? If you're using an older version of the GW launcher that doesn't support your firmware correctly, the GW won't show up.

Do you mean when you hit settings 4.5 shows up or gw8.1 and when you leave it goes back to 4.5. Because the latter happens to me. I did the format nand way back when I was setting it up but not sure if I need to do it again after reading these posts before me.

4.5 was showing up, formatting emunand through Gateway fixed it.

i believe entering settings from GW firmware will always revert back when you exit settings
