Hacking Homebrew cant download cias

a few weeks ago i started to download cia games via the FBI app on my 3ds, it was easy to do so since i could download them from the app; now i am trying to download another but for some reason the option is gone to download the cia

plus, i am unable to redownload any normal 3ds software from the eshop, i was trying to redownload pokemon picross but i couldnt so i just went to download it from a cia on FBI and other games as well

i would love if someone could help please

edit: a new option popped up on the top option of the cia folder saying "install and delete all cias" i pressed it and it said "unable to install cias" or something like that and it was just being weird after that so i closed the software

Are you scanning QR codes to do this? How are you initiating the download?

You can skip the FBI installer and install the hShop app instead, it is an online shop that consolidates the need to download and install through FBI. Very convenient.

Just checking on hShop, pokemon picross seems available to download.

i was using direct download for all the games from the hshop website, after the install function was gone from FBI i used the qr code scanner but that didnt work either so im not sure whats wrong

btw i forgot to add that whenever i tried qr code download it said it was unable to install cia every time i tried with a diff game; and i wouldnt be able to install hshop at this point since FBI is being weird

I think you meant install the cia. Regardless, this sounds very odd. If you can't install cia files with FBI there might be something corrupted with the installation of FBI. I'm unsure if you can reinstall it easily, I've never looked into that. I'm approaching this from a computer troubleshooting perspective though, it could be quite different troubleshooting it for the 3DS.

You should test with h2testw, if you haven't already. The procedure for doing so is described below

See if you can cut, copy to, or delete to determine if it's a write problem. You can do this on pc or the 3ds.

how do i do this? i did delete all the cias off my sd card on my laptop, but im not sure how to tell if my problem is fixed

just copy it off the sd card. taking data off or putting it back on is as simple as a copy and paste.
