Hacking Can you use DS lite without Micro connected

I was changing the shell of a broken DS lite for a friend and I found out what was wrong with it. the Microphone (the white cable) has snapped but the screen looks fine soe does the wi-fi....)

I ordered the parts from DX (that's gonna take a while) so i wanna know if it would run without the mic connected

well i had a ds phat and that happened to me and when i ordered my replacment case i just removed the mic and it worked fine

putting the L and R buttons was a pain but now it's working with a Pink upper screen

what do I do?
