    Wherever you want me, baby.
    Like the new 3DS? I don't think so. At least not yet. We can play roms and such, but custom things like that aren't working yet, from what I hear.

    Yes, my Other Hacking Tech arrived today and I can confirm it works.

    As mentioned above, if you mean running "New 3DS" software on a standard 3DS, then it's a bit too early to say, but the answer will probably be "no", much like you can't run DSi software on a DS. If the CPU does feature stepping settings etc. though, you probably could overclock it. It wouldn't help with your problem, but it would "work" otherwise.

    I figured it out the other day.

    Code:
    #define cpu.Overclock

    main () ;
    if     {
        bool cpu.Overclock = true
      }

    then {
          mhz < ++i < 2.4ghz ;
      }
    return 0;

    secret exploit bonus!
    take a 3D picture, find where it says Hack=disabled in the hex data. Change Hack=disabled to Hack=enabled.

    put the picture back on the SD card and view it.

    Profit!

    SHAME ON YOU your code isn't even correct :O
    Beside this, nah, overclocking the 3DS to get New 3DS games working wouldn't be possible. The RAM is not expandable.
    The CPU may not be overclockable to the New3DS speed.
    The only thing you can do is using the Circle Pad Pro.

    Simple answer, work your lazy ass for some money and buy the new 3ds, don't be so cheap
    Of course you can also forget about it, not being able to play Xenoblade on the go will not kill you for sure.

    It is speculated that the new 3ds has double RAM, how will overclocking a CPU help with that?
    Think man...

    Not playing Xenoblade at all will give you more time to play actually good games, too!

    Jokes aside though, we still don't know for sure what the system specs are. If the system has more RAM or more VRAM, you can't just "overclock" that - it's not something you can change. That, and the OS will probably be altered or competely new, much like it was the case with the DSi.

    no as already stated it hase more ram and vram.
    also ssspwn wont help with overclocking because its only *usermode*

    Code:
    #include "l33t_hax.h"

    main ()
    {
          if  (cpu.Overclock == true)
          {
                mhz = 2400;
          }
          else
          {
                mhz = 268;
          }
    return 1337;
    }

    //Fixed in C/C++ style
    //l33t_hax.h can be found at [REDACTED]

    Here's the proper release. Greetz to [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and [REDACTED].

    Seriously though, this takes Kernel-level control, and there's no guarantee that the console would even be stable at a higher clock speed. It would, however, most definitely eat through the battery life like no tomorrow. If nothing else, the PICA200 GPU core is able to run at up to 400MHz, so it could be safely overclocked most likely. The CPU would need experimentation, and this wouldn't work on SSSpwn at all, only on the 4.x Kexploit.

    And no, the 3DS will never be able to run games built exclusively for the New 3DS. The PHYSICAL lack of RAM and VRAM would make that impossible without making, basically, a scratch-pad on the SD Card, which would be so slow, everyone would lose their minds trying to do anything. Just accept that the New 3DS is a pain, but can't be worked around. You'll save yourself a huge headache.

    Exploit isn't released yet and people are already circlejerking over almost impossible things.

    People please.
    Let smea release his exploit and let the homebrew devs work on their homebrews.
    Research and coding has to be done first as well as optimizing it.
    Rome wasn't built in a day nor was the Wii's homebrew assortment coded in a day.

    Smea's ssspwn won't do shit. As for feasibility of overclocking via 4.x exploit, it is unknown but not debunked completed either.

    You need kernel access to do anything close to something like this and even then it probably wouldn't be possible. Like for example, you could overclock the Nintendo Gamecube, but there's a contact point that enables it on the GPU buried underneath. You'd have to de-solder the entire CPU/GPU chip to get to it. Because if it was a simple toggle in software code we would be having people overclocking gamecubes left and right back when homebrew on the GameCube was popular. But you haven't heard about that in the past now have you?

    Even if the 3DS had something like this, it would end up being at a smaller scale or it would be embedded inside the chip casing making it impossible to get to without destroying the CPU.

    The 3DS is nothing like computers where you can overclock through just software. You WILL need some kind of hardware mod to even try this and even if you did, it may never be stable enough to be feasible as the chip may not be up to the task for any overclocking.

    This is a pipe dream and this thread should be locked. SSpawn does NOT have any kernel access and even if you tried this on a 4.5 console with Gateway, I can guarantee you WILL FAIL!

    Smea is a respected member of the hacking community, there is no way that ssspwn is a myth.

    Most ARM-based processors are, actually, capable of overclocking through software, and the GPU should be especially capable of it. The issue is battery life above all, and thermal capacity. If the 3DS was only designed to handle a core clock of 268MHz, then the thermal profile of the same chip, at say, 800MHz, would be very different. There's many more problems for working with a handheld than there is for working with a living-room console.

    it depends nintendo might of left the option open for overclocking like sony did with the psp, ...but yeah it would likely need kernel access to achieve, and even then it would have to be limited to what the 3ds is capable of handling without overheating even if faster speeds where achievable

    but again it will be much more intelligent people who find out, so there's no real point trying to guess what will and wont be possible
