Hacking Question Can u update with banned switch?

So I just got home today (9/10) and updated to v9 but I thought I couldn’t update with banned switch, since I had no data I updated and reset my switch. Is that supposed to happen (ability to update?) also I have one of those error codes where the ban is temporary rn. Not perm ban codes

Also, I did not have Nintendo account link ever since the ban

    I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
