You can never stop these people sadly.
Everyday I see threads like, "PSVITA 3.67 hax wen" or "My PS4 is on recent FW, how do I get free gamez?"
Most people don't want to put in the time and energy into researching certain topics so intern they will have other people answering their questions for them, clogging up the sight with useless threads, which in my opinion, should be deleted. If something for any console does get released, there would be uproar of activity on a certain thread. If there is no activity, then there is no reason to ask.
As for the Switch, I sure do hope people stop asking. One because there are many projects in the works, and two, it would be nice to not have this section turn into *Shutter* the 3DS section.

Gbatemp definitely needs to start a "when? BAN" policy.

When will?....When BAN!

How long will.... When BAN! (when your stupid and lazy BAN)

CFW what....When BAN!

Im new to the scene but haven't read anything on the forum but have a question...When BAN!

Asking a question that has already been asked and has an answer readily available in a sticky or other thread....When BAN!

Look at my posts...I have been here a while and have low posts. Why? Because I know how to read and actively search for information. Kids these days are useless I swear ( least I hope they are kids posting this crap). They cant do anything themselves.

Forums are here for you to learn what you need and to contribute when you can. Forums are not here for this constant stupidity and senseless posting of crap that is easily available through search. If you are interested in a certain scene...follow it and read up on it. Make an effort to learn something on your own so i (and many others) dont have to hold your hanf. Don't just post crap without doing your part first.

Anyways morning rant out and time for some coffee.

Respectfully,
Forum Liberation Society

what needs to be done: block anyone commenting in here with under 500 posts :P
I wouldn't do that because some people may create a new account to share something new for the Switch scene but don't have 500 posts.

The sad part is once something like a backup launcher does get released, all those threads will be replaced by people asking for help getting said backup launcher to play their games.

And that will still happen, even when the first sticky on Tutorials will sure be "How to use the backup launcher"... That's life.

If only we had like a banner or something on the home page that would be hard to miss and conveys the fact that there is no backup launcher available yet

There's really no way to stop those threads (or really any unnecessary threads that are asked a million times like the "will my 3DS get bannedfor CFW?" threads") outside of completely closing off all new thread creation until Staff approval of the thread. Which obviously that's far too extreme an option, but it would really be the only actual option that would work. They already have it setup to fill in possible thread titles of pre-existing thread, but that doesn't work either. They could add a more in-depth search option for even more possible thread tiles, but I am willing to bet those will get ignored as well.
People creating these threads either didn't google it first or googled it and didn't like the answer. Regardless they aren't going to notice the countless threads nor even this thread, so the best option we have is just deal with it. There's really only so much we do with people.
